They also publish a real-time match between generation and demand of around 88%, which they say is higher than any other UK supplier*. That number is why I trust their story more than a vague annual green badge.

I like that the money and demand signal go to independent UK generators, not just to overseas certificates with a pretty logo.

My take

“100% renewable” should mean something you can explain in a sentence. For me, Good Energy’s version — British generators, strong real-time matching, optional greener gas while we transition — clears that bar.

Does renewable matching change my wiring?

No. The grid is still mixed. Matching means Good Energy buys renewable generation to cover your use under their methodology.

Is greener gas the same as green hydrogen?

No. It’s typically a biogas blend plus carbon offsets for the rest — not 100% green hydrogen.
